The Naming of the People- Ka po’e nele inoa

So as mentioned in an earlier page, I was really undecided about my air island. So I have a few things to update you on this little island…or islands. The people of the air are called Ka po’e nele inoa- the people without name, or the nameless people. I wanted to play on our inability to see air. There are twin islands called Palauwili’- The Twisting Isles. They are known to the locals of my story, as the Northern and Southern Isles. These people specialize in caring for plants called ti leaves and for their chanting and singing. They have a full-time nursery of plants, covering various parts of the islands, but the ti leaves are their passion.
